Heeeyyy... [Jan. 19th, 2008|04:34 pm]
[Current Mood | blah]

So it's been awhile...Lots of school then christmas then working-before-practicum getting in the way of posting haha.

I know I was missed sooo much on here :P

Basically, Christmas was good, a nice break, got to hang out with Matt and his brothers and their girlfriends. A good time was had by all.

I'm working at the cafe as-full-time-as-I-can-get, trying to get money in a blitz before I start working full time and not getting paid for it at all! And to add to the number of things I have going on right now, I'm knitting a wrap!

http://www.knitrowan.com/images/freepattern/Mobius%20wrap.pdf

It looks pretty neat...I'm knitting it in a cream colour sort of, so it should go nicely with a green summer dress I have (a real green dress). Don't remember how to make it a clicky link, but I'm pretty sure we're clever enough to copy paste...

So yeah...I feel as if I am in a very transitional phase at the moment...Didn't think I'd have a month break in between christmas and practicum...so I'm all geared up for busy and it's not!

Anyways, tis the long and short of it!

Don't know why, but every single time I see this video, the part where the old man puts on his tie before he goes to see his wife's grave I always start balling...
It's so touching and I have no idea why...

Pretty sweet! [May. 10th, 2007|10:59 pm]
[Current Mood | cheerful]
[Current Music |John Wayne Gacy Jr. - Sufjan Stevens]

H'okay so.

I had my first shift at Da Capo today. I'm pretty sure I'm the most not-busy person with two jobs in the world...

I've decided that this week will be my 'lazy-ish week' and that NEXT WEEK I'm working alot more.

The end.

Moving on.

So...Julie came in to Da Capo today. She's a sweetie, and I feel bad because I didn't call her back a couple of days ago (I should have. Definetly should have. :S ) Anyways. So she gave me a mix CD. It's awesome and I love it.

It's even copy written by horsedog! AHHHH! :D

The track list is as follows (haha I sound like a formal old lady):

Walking After You - Foo Fighters
Till I Hear it From You - Gin Blossoms
John Wayne Gacy Jr. - Sufjan Stevens
Raindrops - Regina Spektor
Sleep - Dandy Warhols
Kissed - Simon Wilcox
Who Am I - Lily Frost
Place to Be - Nick Drake
Sparrows Over Birmingham - Josh Rouse
Revolution - The Beatles
Teenage Love Song - Rilo Kiley
Ooh La La - Edie Brickell
Perfect World - Weekend
It's Good to Be in Love - Frou Frou
Frozen - Tegan & Sara
Cinders & Smoke - Iron & Wine
Engine Heart - Mirah

Anyways...so far as of now I haven't listened to the whole thing. But the little bit that I have heard is awesome!

It's made my day. I hope she has an awesome time in Quebec!

:D:D

AND MATT GETS BACK TOMORROW!!!!! YAAAAY!

Blagh [Apr. 10th, 2007|07:33 pm]
Ok so.
I applied to work at the movie that's filming in west ed...I think I'm being considered...since someone e-mailed me and told me I didn't have a phone number on my resume (I do. It's just on the bottom...)So I replied and gave whoever it was my number. I hope that works out.

Also.
Vic got burned...the library and a classroom...some 24 year old idiot decided to break and enter on the weekend...I've known about it since it happened, but we had a tour of CFRN today and a reporter we talked to showed us a picture of the library.

Fucking eh. Remember the little office area where the crazy ukrainian lady was? basically that area was nothing. Computer's gone...it's insane. It's really sad. I miss that place :(

Other than that. Things are champ. School's great, now we're just having to get all our shit together (last episode of Second Edition is due on friday yippeee! then I'll just have like 4 other projects to do...in a week...) we shot the hosting segments on the CityTV set today. It was sweet. Blah gotta get back to the edit suite.

I called matt today (I missed his call when I was in class) he answered, "Hi Beautiful".
My day is that much more awesome now :D

Fantastic Weekend [Mar. 20th, 2007|12:34 pm]
[Current Location |NAIT]
[Current Mood | giddy]
[Current Music |Thank You - Dido]

So, went to Fort Macleod last weekend. With Matt. It's his hometown.
I didn't know how much I needed a break like that until I got there. It's what I love about smaller communities, it's like you just automatically slow down and everything's running on NORMAL for once...
I met his mom. We got along great (yessssss) she's just a huge sweetheart. :D Definetly eased whatever doubts I had, I mean: She's got her three boys, and Matt's the youngest. It would be so easy for her to be really REALLY protective of him and just automatically not like anyone he's dating. But I was already comfortable within five minutes. And we were joking around by dinner time. Later on, we went out, met one of his friend's from home and his friend's sister. Went to the bar. He's got cool friends haha.
Next morning I got up late, and they were watching a kung-fu movie(!) it was really funny. Haha...then we went to Lethbridge to get his car's oil changed and so on and so forth. That was cool in a waiting for 3 hours kinda way hahahaha.
It took awhile to get around to it and then get it done...they were kinda swamped when we first got there.
ANYWAYS. I met his brother and his brother's girlfriend and then we got back to Macleod. Had dinner, early birthday celebration for Matt. Ate wayyyy too much. We were going to go dancing that night. We gave Matt's bro and his girlfriend a ride back to Leth, thought about going out still...but we were both really tired...so we went back to his house, watched tv then slept hahahahahaha.
Next day, got up...Matt made me toast. haha awww
Then he taught me how to drive. On a standard. So I should learn to do the automatic thing because I was NOT having the clutch/3000rpm's/shiftinggears crap AND steering. That will take some practice.

Long story short.
I'm freaking lucky...I honestly cannot believe it. He's incredible ♥
AND IT'S ONLY BEEN A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GUESS IT KIDDIES! [Feb. 23rd, 2007|05:40 pm]
Step 1: Put your MP3 player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line(s) of the first 23 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Cross out the songs and put up the name up when someone guesses correctly

1. They say it's your birthday!
2. I told you about strawberry fields, you know the place where nothing is real.
3. My beloved monster and me, we go everywhere together
4. When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide.
5. Silver bells, silver bells, it's christmas time in the city
6. What do you see when you see me?
7. Hold me to nothing, no truth, no lies
8. Each day just goes so fast, I turn around it's passed.
9. I look at you walk, see the lover thats sleeping
10. There are worse things I could do, than go with a boy or two
11. I want love, but its impossible.
12. Oh yeah, alright, are you going to be in my dreams tonight?
13. I got a friend, he lives down in old Albaquerque
14. Virgil Spencer's got a 19 inch Hitachi
15. Do you think that when this album is out it will make us more attractive to the ladies?
16. I will wait for you, like I promised I would do
17. It's getting late, I haven't seen my mates
18. Indian summer, abilene, you were new in town, I was 19
19. Have you seen the little piggies
20. You ain't nothing but a hound dog
21. Oh darling, please believe me, I'll never do you no harm
22. There's no earthly way of knowing what was in your heart when it stopped going
23. As I walk away, I look over my shoulder, to see what I'm leaving behind

BLAAAAAAAAH [Feb. 16th, 2007|05:51 pm]
[Current Mood | drained]

Mkay, ever have one of those days thats SUPPOSED to be nice but just doesn't turn out that way?
Ok so...It started ok, I got to sleep in for an hour and that was nice. Caught my bus AT THE RIGHT TIME! And got to school when I said I'd be there.
I got splashed by a car when I was walking down the street to my building. Kind of a bummer.
Finished my assignment. Good thing.
Had to go to Earth's General Store, and got the ball rolling on my segment...but I didn't really know what I was doing...SOOOOO that was pretty stressful. Thank God I had Steve and Tom shooting it, they're awesome. I kinda screwed up bad, I was interviewing the owner, and the conversation kind of hit a rut, and I asked Steve and Tom if they had anything to add...man OH man...I lose :P
I got back to school, logged and captured the footage (we're good to go!) and then spent 3 hours dicking around/getting pissed off that the computers weren't burning my interview onto a DVD. Blargh.
So by my own stupidity I have a migraine and I'm missing youth group right now (nobody wants to hang out with me...trust me, I am not happy company).
And I still haven't solved the mystery of the snow in my bed.
AND NOBODY SEEMS TO SEE THE GRAVITY OF THE SITUATION!

Happy Valentines Day Lovas! [Feb. 14th, 2007|10:06 am]
[Current Mood | excited]

Well I'm not actually sick.
I thought it was a cute 'Singles Awareness Day' reference.
Apparently it's probably not as funny as when I'm sitting in TV Copywriting class...everyone's handing  out valentine's and it is VERY festive!

Hmmm maybe? [Feb. 7th, 2007|08:01 pm]
[Current Mood | curious]

So I'm thinking.
Maybe a change is in order?
Should I go darker hair-wise?
I think it would be nice. Good way to completely shed this look that I've had forEVER.
I think this might just be the final step if I can finally decide on a colour, it's worked for me before in the moving on process.
Although that's not -why- I would be doing it. It's just a plus haha.
Hmmm I've just gotta decide on a colour...hmmmm any ideas?

And! School's getting crazy. I have one project, that's due for three teachers. And it's due on monday. I haven't rolled any tape on it, I've finally figured out what my story is about TODAY. And I've contacted the interviewee so that's good... I'm glad I figured something out before I thoroughly screwed myself over!

Whew! That was close!

Ok so.
Poster show at Nait.

So dangerous for my bank account. And the prices were REALLY GOOD.
I got a gorgeous Princess Bride poster, and a vintage Guiness poster, and because I love my sister I got her a Jimi Hendrix/John Lennon/Jim Morrison poster that said We All Shine On.

And I should have got a Marilyn Moneroe or Johnny Depp poster for Catherine, but I'm a fucktard.
So that's on my next time list ahahahaha.

I also saw Amy Macdonald at school today, she's going to apply for TV I believe, this will be interesting....

Found this on the internet, way too funny to not share. [Jan. 14th, 2007|12:10 pm]
[Current Mood | amused]

Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that as an observant Orthodox Jew, she holds that homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned in any circumstance. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet.

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to follow them.

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?

i) I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev. 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I do look forward to your enlightenment regarding the questions that puzzle me. Then I shall pass them along to others who may appreciate your moral leadership.

Sincerely.
